While I’m editing my current novel, I’ve got little pieces coming together regarding the next one. I thought it would be good to have a trans character within the main cast, not to discuss their trans-ness but just to be part of the team. You know, because trans people exist. But then I thought, if you have a trans character who doesn’t bring attention or focus around their trans-ness, how would you know? How do I know that a lot of characters in existing fiction aren’t trans but people just don’t go on about it? Maybe Han Solo had a transitional background story but everyone is cool enough to accept him as he presents and they all just get on with adventuring?
I have no idea what I’m saying
